Another Soccer Season Begins

Our Saturdays have once again become taken over by Soccer. Wesley is playing PeeWee soccer for the first time and Reili is in her 5th year of playing. They both seem to enjoy it, although Wesley tends to go in and out of practice and games at will. Amberly would be playing, but she didn't want to play until about a week before it started and that was too late. I am not sure if we could handle having all three of them play. Games in the afternoon are so HOT....can't wait until it gets cooler here. It's September 27th today and it's supposed to be 100 degrees. We live for morning games! I only got shots of Wesley at his first game. Pictures of Reili will have to come later.

Wesley on the sidelines with the player who seems to know what he's doing. He gets most of the teams goals every game (can't remember his name though).

The Hottie and the Cuties on the sideline.

She's just so cute, I couldn't help it.

A trying moment during the game.

Fun Happenings, Typical and Atypical

Elizabeth didn't have a first day of school, but she did have her first set of pigtails! She is growing up too fast!

My sweet baby...I just love her to pieces.

A view from behind is always needed to show that it's all long enough.

One day after school Amberly spent ages making a meal out of playdough for Daddy, only to find that he had fallen asleep before she could bring it to him. I told her to take a picture of all her work for him. She is such a sweet girl and loves anything crafty or artistic.

Another morning I got Elizabeth to let me put ribbons in her hair and got a picture before she pulled them out about 3 minutes later. I texted the picture to her Dad to show how cute she is.

Of course Wesley needed a picture of his new Lightning McQueen shirt too.

For fun on Labor Day we took the kids to Sea World for a few hours. We had spent most of the weekend finishing the painting of our kitchen cupboards (stay tuned for photos of that later) and felt that we needed to give them some family fun time too.
Elle Belle loves the carousel. We have to get right back on again and again.

We took Dad to the Azul show, because he hadn't seen it yet. These 4 keep us entertained.

The weekend after Labor Day was a Guys Fun Weekend here in Texas. Tom's brother Greg and his friend Mike came to stay with us and some other friends from Missouri came also to go to the BYU/Texas game. The kids absolutely loved having Uncle Greg to snuggle with, climb on, jump on, and play with. He and Mike were really good sports with them. I think Greg and Mike may have enjoyed some of the craziness.

Sadly, as is typical for me, we only got one picture of them with the girls.

Here is a view of the field from where they all sat. Must be half time or the beginning.

Back to School

After a long summer in a new place with 4 kids at home, I thought I would be excited and happy to have them go back to school. It turned out to be more stressful than I thought it would be to get everyone off to school and I felt a little empty inside once they were gone. However, now that we are into the routine of things, it is nice to have a little time alone with just Elizabeth and be able to give her some of my full attention. The kids seem to be enjoying school too and we all go to bed at a decent time (well everyone except me I suppose). (By the way, school started on August 22...so this was already a month ago).

Before school started we were able to go to meet your teacher night and I got a picture of both girls' teachers, but was in too big of a hurry to get Wes's preschool teacher.

The three stooges on the first day
(bad photo quality, but in the stress of the moment it was the best I could do.)

Wes is going to Pre-K at another school about 15 minutes away. The first week and a half I had to drive him and that made things a little crazy, but now that he takes the bus we have a little better time of it.

Waiting for the teachers to come out the first day and get the kids. Here is the little Mr. with his tag telling everyone where he should be (just in case he gets out of line).

Wes is definitely my most outgoing child. He went up to these boys and tried to make friends before class on the first day. I am so proud that he is friendly.

Britton, Wes, and Lizzy. These are two of Wes's friends from our ward here who go to the same preschool program. Unfortunately, they aren't in the same class.
