April Visitors

Amberly came home from Disney World and celebrated her birthday at school with some strawberry cupcakes. Yum, Yum! I can't believe she is already 4.

April brought some fun visitors to our house. First a visit from Tom's brother Sam and his kids. They came while the kids were on Spring Break. The kids all had fun hanging out and playing together. It was really rainy so we didn't get out much.

Sam serenades Tom with some of his own songs he has written.

Cute, cute Liam!

Jonas and Reili pass the football in the basement.

Loves, loves, loves! Amberly and Skyler.

More fun in the basement with Skyler, Jonas and Reili.

When these cousins left, Reili said she wanted to live next door to her cousins Jonas and Skyler. Thanks so much for the fun visit Sam and Fam!

Our other visitors in April were my Mom and Dad. They wanted to come visit and see Tom again before they left on their mission. It was so good to have them visit us and we got a lot of projects done. They are always so helpful when they come. We also played some games and as I recall I might have won one or two. Thanks for the visit Mom and Dad. We miss you!

Grandpa reads to the kids.

The kids all love having Daddy home. Here is just a moment of them sitting with Dad. Priceless! Tom is loving this!

Disney World March 28-April 6

We drove to Disney World and on our way we were able to stop for the night in Birmingham, AL, where Tom went to Optometry School. We stayed with some dear friends who still live there and were able to catch up with a few friends who are still there as well at a Saturday night get together. It was so much fun to see them all again. We also attended our old ward there before we headed down to Florida. We sure miss you guys!

Me, Katie Bradford, Mikelle Foster, Stephanie Jessop.

Jake Jessop, Chris Foster, Tom (so excited to be there), and Russ Bradford.

We tried to get a photo of all the kids, but they were having too much fun playing. These are the ones we managed to get.

We made it to Florida Sunday night and stayed at a time share condo at Mystic Dunes Resort (which was about a 5 minute drive from Disney World). There we met Tom's two brothers, sister, and their families. They hadn't seen Tom since he got back so it was a fun family reunion of sorts. By the way, Tom picked all these pictures and was going to do this update...mine probably won't be as exciting as his would have been, but he picked the pictures. It was hard to get them all in order, so they aren't necessarily.

Our first stop was Epcot. Reili and Amberly waited patiently for us to get our tickets. This double stroller was a life saver (we also had an umbrella stroller for the Wesley).

The first ride we took was some finding Nemo ride. The kids thought it was pretty neat.

Meagan, Wesley, Caylyn, and Callie play outside the Mission to Mars ride...waiting for the rest of us to come out. That was one of my favorites at Epcot (Soarin' was my other favorite there). Tom gets too motion sick for most rides, so he skipped many of them.

Wesley enjoys a ride on Dad's shoulders. He loves having his Daddy back.

A much needed bath back at the condo after a long day of play. I wish our bathtub at home was this big.

Our last night there my sister in law Jane, niece Ashley, and I park hopped to Hollywood Studios and the Magic kingdom. This was possibly the lamest ride, but funny because the kid riding in the car next to me couldn't keep his car from hitting the middle bar every second. We also got to go on the Rockin' Roller Coaster and the Tower of Terror. Those were fun. I love fast rides.

During our trip we had a date night with Tom's brothers and sister to Downtown Disney. It was fun to be together as adults for a night away. This is our ferry ride back to the car. Thanks to Ashley, our niece, for babysitting for us.

A pause at Hollywood Studios with the Tower of Terror in the background. Reili loved that ride and wanted to go again and again...once was enough for Amberly.

Daddy and Amberly on the Monorail for a ride to the Magic Kingdom.

Mommy and Reili pose on the monorail.

Our little family at the light show in Magic Kingdom one night.

We celebrated Amberly's fourth birthday at the Magic Kingdom. She really wanted to meet the Princesses, so we stood in line to meet Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Belle. She is so bashful that this is as close as she would get to them. True to form, she wouldn't give them a hug or even say a word. She is just like her mom in that regard.

Amberly wanted a Princess cake and Tom picked out the cutest one at Walmart. What a great Dad! We are so happy to have him home with us.

Blow out the candles!

What a doll!

It was so much fun to have all those cousins to share her birthday with her. That doesn't happen often since we live so far from either family. Thanks for the great trip everyone!

March

The next few entries will be an attempt to catch up on what we have been doing since Tom got home in March. We took a couple family vacations in March. One was a weekend in Branson, MO and the other a trip to Disney World with half of Tom's family. I will save the Disney World pictures for their own entry.

Our trip to Branson was not very eventful. The most fun we had was probably in the hotel swimming pool because it rained the whole time we were there. Branson has a ton of shows, but we didn't go to any because we thought it might be torture with the kids and we wanted to save our money for our Disney World trip. There were some outlets nearby though, so I got a little shopping in.

Amberly, our little fish.

Cheese!

Wesley and Daddy have fun at the pool together.

Alive and Kicking

Our lives truly have not ended since Tom came home...in fact we have had some great times in the past almost three months (I can't believe it's been 3 months almost).  We've been so busy that I guess I just lost the blogging bug.  Plus, half the reason I used to blog was so that Tom could keep up on things and now he is here.  Tonight I finally got around to looking at some of your blogs and it inspired me to at least put something here.  It is truly so much fun to see everything that everyone else is doing.  It makes our lives seem rather dull in comparison, but I know that will not be the case when someone else gets to look at what we are doing.  The latest craze at the Schell home is the new pet Tom and the kids went to get last weekend.  (When I say kids, I mean it...Tom's sister and kids were visiting over the Memorial Day weekend and he took all 5 of them plus Reili and Amberly on an hour drive to pick up our new pet.  My HERO!)

Drum roll....they bought a ball python.  Amberly and Reili (and I must say Daddy) can't get enough of it.  Reili named him Michael (which as Tom pointed out is sort of ironic considering he is a snake and all.  He thought Lucifer would be more appropriate).  Well...I'll have to recap the last few months later, but this will have to do for now.

Don't Blame us, Blame Facebook

It's been a month since I got home and I've loved every minute of it.  I go back to work tomorrow, finally, but I thought I'd post a few things since it has been a while.  Here's a video from when I went to Reili's school to surprise her:
Here's a video of Amberly when she came home from preschool:
Of course, Wesley didn't remember me, but it only took a couple of weeks before he was my buddy again...  The kids wore me out...  They all wanted to spend time with daddy.  This is just an example:
